Common Despatch Process: In normal circumstances, Micromine Geobank allows users to configure and execute sample despatches, which involve selecting samples, specifying metadata, field preparation, lab preparation, and analysis details. This process is typically initiated from the 'Sample Tracker | Despatches' node in the Configuration Manager.
Auto-Create Despatch option: Although it is not generally advisable, as this action will mask the details of the actual request sent to the lab, it is still acceptable if a large number of historical receipt results need to be loaded, but their corresponding despatches are not currently available. In this case, a feature called Auto-Create Despatch can be used.
Restricting access to the auto-despatch feature: Sometimes, it is strictly required not to change Auto-Create Despatch as part of the usual routine workflow. There is a way to restrict the user's ability to alter the Auto-Create Despatch option in the configuration mode for the Sample Receipt object.
Limit User's Response
We need to alter the Receipt's Object to achieve the above (set restrictions).
1st Step: In the configuration mode, we may want to unselect in the "Input Source & Format" the Auto-Create Despatch options in the "Default Workflow" Option frame.
2nd Step: Unselect in the "Runtime Options" the Show auto-create despatch options in the "Starting Options" frame.
3rd Step: It is the final action required to prevent using auto-create despatch options.
Select in the "Receipt Details", Column Name – "Despatch ID", the Limit User's Response option box.
If the option is enabled for the Despatch ID column, the Auto-Create Despatch function will be disabled. When you enable this option for the Despatch ID column, then the following dialogue will be shown:
In other words, we may do only the single third step, which will turn off all the other options we manually unselected earlier in steps 1 and 2.
Now, if we look at these Auto-Create Despatch options, they will all be greyed out.
