When configuring an excel import object under Data Transfer in Geobank, there is an option for Geobank administrators to set up a File Open Path save via substitution parameters. This allows saving of the file path of an import to a relevant field such as the DATA_SOURCE column.
Figure 1: Excel Import Configuration - File Open Path substitution parameter example.
This substitution parameter can then be configured into the default value (using the same example above) the DATA_SOURCE column.

Should a Geobank administrator attempt to re-configure the excel import object – the substitution parameter for the import file collection will trigger upon opening the object. If the Geobank administrator should choose not to upload the file here, and continue onto the object configuration they will see the following yellow triangle with exclamation mark icon under the Source section and a red exclamation mark in a red circle icon under the Worksheet Mappings section.

The only way to allow continued configuration of the excel import object is to select a file under Source. This could be the original import file (or a copy in the same format) or a new file if the import object is to be changed and updated. Alternatively, it can also be selected upon opening the object when the substitution parameter is prompted.
